Betül Sertkaya (Ankara, Türkiye 1991)
In 2019, she graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts Faculty, Department of Painting.
In 2024, he completed his thesis and master's degree in Hacettepe University Institute of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, titled "An Essay on Life and Spatiality: Apartment Project".
In 2025, she started his Proficiency in Art programme at Hacettepe University Fine Arts Institute Painting Department and is still continuing.
The artist’s work predominantly explores the boundaries between reality and dreams, focusing on constructing a fictional reality amidst the constant stream of falsehoods within their own time and geography. Within the context of pastiche, the artist reinterprets works created in earlier periods through a contemporary lens. Confronted with the absurdity of a life that is almost entirely caricatured—especially through mainstream media—they seek the irony in producing art under such conditions.
