Exit44moment

A digital loop of daily existence

It was exhibited in the metaverse group exhibition at the end of the LoopArtCritique residency.

-Exit44moment- offers an experiential space where the ordinary day is deconstructed and reimagined at the intersection of digital and physical life. Composed of four interconnected verses, the work invites viewers into a cyclical journey: waking up, going to work, returning home, and dreaming. Each verse is linked to the next through portals—time unfolds not linearly but in a continuous loop.

The project emerges from personal experiences and reflects on the oppressive rhythms of everyday life. It explores how the individual navigates daily routines while negotiating inner worlds that often remain suppressed.

The first verse -Wakeywakey- centers on the act of waking. The excitement of a new day quickly dissolves into quiet despair when shaped by the obligation to work. In this scene, the potential of a fresh beginning clashes with the weight of a predictable routine. Framed as a digital playground, this environment subtly reveals the buried, childlike excitement that each morning once held. It is a space where the creative energy we wake with is steadily silenced by the monotony of working life.

The second verse, titled -Working4Holidays- transforms the workday into a labyrinth. Inspired by classical Roman designs, the maze leads to a distant office—hard to reach, and disappointing upon arrival. Inside, a small exhibition composed of collages blends analog and digital elements with repetitive imagery and unsettling sounds. This verse visualizes the sense of entrapment in daily life and the devaluation of time. It references Japan’s concept of karoshi (death from overwork), Finnish filmmaker Aki Kaurismäki’s portrayals of the working class, and the socio-economic pressures of life in Turkiye. The piece invites reflection on labor, class, and the quiet erosion of personal time.

The third verse -ComingHome- explores the idea of returning home. The home is often imagined as a safe haven, a place of rest and autonomy. Yet in this scene, the ambient sounds and atmosphere raise questions about how personal our private spaces truly are. The weight of the outside world seeps in; the individual feels like a visitor even in their own home. After a long workday, creativity is often replaced by consumption, and solitude becomes loneliness. This part of the work is deeply personal—as I too have often felt overwhelmed in my own space, unable to access my inner voice. The home becomes an extension of a system we cannot fully escape.

The final verse -Dream- marks the descent into sleep—the domain of the subconscious. Here, structure unravels; routine gives way to intuition, and logic to association. Perhaps this is where creativity is most free. In this scene, I placed works inspired by my dreams—paintings made with 2D and traditional materials that, within this digital verse, expand into a limitless playground. Imagination takes full control. Reality stretches, collapses, and reforms. Viewers are invited into a temporary journey through their own inner landscapes. In this world, gravity is replaced by thought, and time by sensation. Eventually, the loop returns to its beginning: waking. But now, we carry the images we collected along the way.

In -Exit44moment- Hours slip by, routines repeat, and meaning hovers always just out of reach. The viewer is not merely an observer, but a participant in a cycle of quiet introspection, and poetic fatigue.
